If I do that can you recommend a safe download site? I was just planning to download another LM17.3 Mate ISO. Whatever's on my LIveCD is the same as what I had, and I'm pretty sure the LiveCD is from August 2017. It's on the LiveCD but I can't find that darn ISO. Regarding which version LM17.3 I have, it's "Mate," which actually is in my post btw. Is it safe to assume if the liveCD works then there should be no problem with a "no-internet" 17.3 installation? The 17.3 user manual only says you need internet to get the keyboard layout, but it is working with the liveCD already. I have a way to check md5sum but how do I verify the ISO authenticity? I don't want to install anything on the laptop since Win7 Pro is not supported anymore.Īlso, regarding Mint 17.3, since that isn't supported anymore either I don't plan to use the internet during the installation. But I want to do it with my Win7 Pro laptop not my Dell. To make sure I get a clean install I want to check the md5sum and the authenticity of the ISO image. I'll be using it mostly to watch old DVDs. I want to erase the hard drive since WinXP doesn't work anymore and install Linux Mint 17.3 MATE on it instead. I have an e310 Dell Desktop from 2005 with 2 GB memory, a Pentium 4 CPU and 32-bit Windows XP.
